Lockdown 'Virtual Hangs' are back !!!

As Lifeline records highest daily calls on record as lockdown exacerbates loneliness and we hear the support service alone saw Monday, August 3 service hit 3,345 calls, which is the highest daily number in the organisation's history, the Imperfectly Perfect Campaign itself although not a substitute for Professional Help has continued to see a dramatic increase in people contacting them for help through their vast social media platforms.'

This is concerning because the public are hearing help is always available through the various support services and mainstream media but the public are also finding out just how many organisations cannot cope with the influx of numbers of people struggling right now and are left without help.

The number of messages the Imperfectly Perfect Campaign as an awareness initiative are receiving daily is truly concerning because it is showing people still do not know where to turn when the larger organisations are inundated.

As humans we need interaction !!

The Imperfectly Perfect Campaign is not funded, but what it may lack in resources, it makes it up in heart and community.

That is why the Imperfectly Perfect Campaign once more have commenced running free International 'virtual hangs' for anybody struggling with loneliness at the moment.

To make these possible, all we ask is companies who want to make a difference help our efforts by contributing to our efforts.

The virtual hangs are an incredible way to keep connected and are led by International Experts & Professionals in the Mental Health & Wellness space as well as some of the Most recognised faces from the Imperfectly Perfect Campaign.

Past hangs included some incredible sessions with American Idol’s Justin Guarini holding a live acoustic session, to Baywatch's Jeremy Jackson leading a Breath-work Meditation, Chef Jason Roberts leading a cooking workshop, International Rockstar Wes Geer leading a Meditation & Music Therapy Session to International Fitness Trainer to the stars Rachael Newsham leading Fitness classes, and so much more.

Angelica Bridges gets behind the Imperfectly Perfect Campaign's Global Efforts.

‘There is no such thing as perfection. To me, it just means being yourself and not worrying about creating an image or having to prove anything to anyone that you are a certain way or anything. People I find will love you more for your honesty, for being who you are, not trying to be someone else because you’ll never align if you are trying to be someone else. The more authentic you are in this life, in this world the easier it is and like you said the more you let go of things, things then get easier and they start to flow and that’s about being Imperfect’ @angelicabridges

Musical Theatre Star Josh Piterman shares his story on the ImperfectlyPerfect Podcast

‘I often wear this jumper and it says, ‘own your story’ That is about owning all parts of your story. You know, the things you’re not proud of, the shame stories that you have within you and I know shame is one of the hardest things for us to deal with as humans. It irks inside of us and manifests physically in a way that is very painful for us. It doesn’t live and it can’t live in your own house of empathy because it’s like empathy is the antidote to shame or compassion is the antidote to shame. Your self compassion. So acknowledging being honest and saying you are not perfect but you’re enough is the origins of unconditional love’ - Josh Piterman

All August we have some truly amazingly inspirational guests coming up on the Podcast including established musical theatre performer and classical crossover artist Joshua Piterman.

'I literally wanted to die' with Joshua Broome

He was one of the Top Five Male Porn Stars in the World. Now he's a Pastor.

Joshua Broome has a story that'll move you to tears with his painful experiences, but then inspire you to grow in God because of what he's done in his life.

During his five years in the porn industry, Joshua Broome made over 1,000 adult films, was named Top Adult Male Performer of the Year, and earned over one million dollars. This episode we hear how Joshua first got involved in the porn industry, the damage it wreaked on him, and where it got to the point of him wanting to take his own life. He shares while working at a restaurant in L.A., how he met a group of girls who worked in porn who suggested that he consider doing so as well. He agreed to meet with an agent, who told him that because of his good looks and because there was a need for acting experience, he could likely have a successful career as a porn star.

The guilt and nerves gradually diminished throughout his first year working as a porn star. “The more numb I became to what it was, the less I felt conflicted about it,” he said. “It was just a transaction to me. A handshake was sometimes more personal than having sex.” Joshua them delves in to the decision to leave the porn industry being the result of something one could describe as a modern-day miracle.

This is such an inspirational story and we cannot wait for you to listen. So be sure to click the link in our bio for our latest episode.

Motivational Speaker, Author, Woman Of God Somalia Brown gets behind our Global Efforts.

‘I’m not perfect, you know what I mean and I show my flaws. Spiritually, same thing. There are moments when women think, ‘oh my god I want a marriage just like you. I want to have a ministry just like you and I’m like, you don’t know what it’s cost me. People admire and covet, but you don’t know what it took that person, you don’t know what it took Beyonce to be Beyonce. Do you know how many hours she works out. My childhood, I had to give up being a child at some point. You have to give up something to be great. To be a world-changer and that’s imperfect. When we show that side, a lot of people back up. But that’s the imperfect side of you just seeing my platform. Whoever else’s platform who you admire and and want so bad but what did he or she have to give up to get that. That should be the question that every person asks.’ @realonesomalia

International Rugby Union Player Psalm Wooching shares his story on the ImperfectlyPerfect Podcast

‘Imperfectly Perfect means accepting who you are as a person. They always say, you know, the cliche thing, it’s ok not to be ok. That phrase, and I think you have to put yourself and others in a category of nobody is perfect. No matter how or even your biggest person you look up to, the guy who makes the most money in the world. Nobody’s perfect. They are all dealing with something and you have to just embrace that. If you are down and low or happy and high, you just got to embrace that. Everyday is a new day, everyday is a day to take advantage and whether it’s that low day or a high day just know you can get through it and you don’t have to be perfect’. @psalmwooching

An upcoming episode on the @imperfectlyperfect_podcast with International rugby union player, Psalm who played for the United States men's national team, also played for the San Diego Legion in the Major League Rugby and previously played for the USA Selects and Seattle Saracens and now plays for the Rouen Normandie Rugby club in France.

We hear how people can be affected by mental health not just directly, but also indirectly like Liv openly shares on the episode from seeing some of her closest people go through their struggles and how many people still shy away from the subject at hand when they feel they have nothing to contribute to the conversation because they haven't been directly affected personally.

This is such an important episode especially for those who feel exactly like this in not thinking that they have anything to say or advocate for.

The importance of knowing Mental Health can and does effect everyone of us throughout our life being that either directly or like this episode discusses indirectly.

Joshua Broome shares his truth on the Imperfectly Perfect Podcast

‘I am a father of 3 beautiful boys, I have a wife who loves me so much and we’ve been married for 5 years last week and I have a story that lets people know ‘hey, if you believe that having all this sex is going to make you happy, it didn’t make me happy. Fame, No it didn’t work. Money, I made over a million dollars at the time in the industry, didn’t work. I actually achieved everything that I believe would make me happier and at the end of it, I was left broken and depressed and I realised that, man if this won’t bring me happiness and piece what will and I get to point someone to that one thing that does provide peace’ @iamjoshuabroome

Upcoming Episode for the @imperfectlyperfect_podcast coming soon

He Was One of the Top Five Male Porn Stars in the World. Now He’s a Pastor.

Joshua Broome wanted to die. After achieving fame firstly in acting then the porn industry, he spirraled down into a pit of confusion, was at the end of himself — and believed he had no viable path forward. Seeing beyond the fog of the present felt impossible. After years of buried emotions, the former adult film star could no longer compress his angst and fear. “I'm thinking, ‘I want to die.

I don't have the guts to kill myself, but like how would I do it ... I just don't want to live anymore. There's no future, there's no one who's going to marry me, there's no employer who’s going to hire me ... I'm absolutely useless.’”

But rather than give up, Broome mustered the courage to leave the industry and rebuild his life and is now a husband, father and pastor, boldly defying the lies he told himself in the midst of his despair.
